Sen. Dodd Allegedly Recieved "Special" Mortgage.
Fri Jun 13, 2008 at 10:21:04 AM PDT
The AP is reporting today that Senator Chris Dodd (D-CT) recieved special treatment reserved for "friends" of Countrywide Financial Corp.'s chairman.
From Dodd's spokesman:
"The Dodds received a competitive rate on their loans," spokesman Bryan DeAngelis said in a statement. "They did not seek or anticipate any special treatment and they were not aware of any."
Is The Path to 9/11 a Homework Assignment for your kids?
Sat Sep 09, 2006 at 06:26:17 PM PDT
My daughter is too young to be targeted for the Scholastic/Path to 9/11 curriculum. I'm wondering how many of you have kids whose weekend assignments include watching the movie tomorrow night.
CT-SEN: Lieberman Invites Lamont to Debate
Fri Aug 25, 2006 at 11:02:55 AM PDT
As you may recall, Ned Lamont invited Joe Lieberman to a pre-primary debate months before Joe finally accepted. Today, Lieberman challenged Lamont to a debate.
I don't agree with most of you about immigration.
Tue Aug 22, 2006 at 06:53:07 PM PDT
I've been writing this diary in my head since yesterday.
Maybe it should have stayed there.
But I'm putting it out here for you to see so that I can sort through what's in my head and learn from what's in yours.
So what's this all about? Well, simply put, my views on immigration are closer to Bush's than to, say, yours.
The Right gets it Wrong. Again.
Wed Jul 12, 2006 at 11:25:39 AM PDT
Today at
realclearpolitics.com, Tom Bevan has an article about Paul Campos' column about Lieberman and the war in yesterday's
Rocky Mountain News.
I don't know why I'm still surprised at the drivel being written. I don't know why I still expect integrity in journalism.
I do know this: I'm not gonna sit back and take it.
I've sent the following email to Bevan.
Happy Birthday, Mr. President.
Fri Jun 30, 2006 at 05:00:55 AM PDT
So I got an email from Ken Mehlman yesterday--like others, I like to see what the other side is up to. And he invited me to sign an e-card for Bush for his 60th birthday.
I thought I could have fun with that.
Open letter to Joe Lieberman
Sat Jun 17, 2006 at 06:00:17 AM PDT
I hopped over to Lieberman's campaign site this morning to see what was happening there. I ended up writing to Lieberman about it.
Lieberman's Campaign Site: Or, Losing His Job--It's Just a Matter of Time
Thu Jun 08, 2006 at 05:30:35 PM PDT
I was reading an article via Ned Lamont's campaign
site today and found
this article about the Senate race, including the Republican candidate, Alan Schlesinger. In the article Lieberman's campaign manager, Sean Smith, is quoted thus:
"The fact that Ned has generated so much support from the national netroots
says a lot," Smith said, pointing to endorsements such as the one Lamont just
secured from MoveOn.org. "We have a lot of support in Connecticut. ... And Ned
is supported mostly by out-of-state political activists."
[snip]
"The people who are going to decide this election reside in Connecticut,"
Smith said. "And that is who we are focused on communicating to and whom we're
asking for their support."
Follow me carefully over the slippery slope to the right to see what happened when I ventured into what has become Joe's world.
The Silver Lining
Wed May 31, 2006 at 03:01:36 PM PDT
I was driving home from work this afternoon, listening to an Al Gore interview on ATC on NPR, when it hit me. There is quite a lot of good coming out of Bush's presidency.
Hear me out below the fold.
Ahhhhh--Springtime in Connecticut
Wed Apr 26, 2006 at 06:45:07 AM PDT
The chickadees and titmice are singing, the tulips and dogwoods are blooming, Leiberman is running scared, and 76% in a Hartford Courant/Connecticut
poll disapprove of Bush.
Who could ask for anything more?
